It all started when layers of fossils and calcium sediment evolved into limestone and then morphed into the dense crystalline substance that has become the foundation of Talladega County and the envy of the entire world. Stretching approximately 35 miles across central Alabama, the Sylacauga Marble Quarry has been a mining venture for many since 1838. Present day, it only makes sense that the long-time stone business entrepreneurs from Masonry Arts capitalized on Alabama’s untapped white marble to forge Alabama Marble Mineral and Mining Company (AM3). AM3 is the world’s only producer of Alabama white marble and it was important for the brand’s identity to reflect its strength, quality, exclusivity, and allure. Embracing the legend of white marble, AM3 draws inspiration from historic architectural landmarks like the Parthenon and the genuine Southern pride of Alabama.
