COMMERCIAL PLYWOOD PRODUCTION PROCESS


Compared to the packing plywood production process, the commercial plywood production process takes much more time. All steps need to be carefully scrutinized: From choosing raw materials: Veneer quality, thickness of veneer, moisture of veneer and so on, all must be in a rigorous selection process of quality. Glue used to produce commercial plywood must be pure, mixed with Melamine at the ratio of 15%, 20%, which belongs to the demand and purpose of customers. The commercial plywood production process will include the following steps:


- Debarking: Firstly, the large wooden logs are peeled and cut into pieces according to the production requirement.

- Peeling and clipping: These wooden pieces are put into a slicer machine to make thin veneers

- Drying: The veneers are then dried by sunlight or by a dryer machine until the target moisture content is reached. This will strengthen the cohesion when they are glued together in the next step.

- Gluing: After covering the two faces of each thin layer with glue, the glued layers then are stacked. The adjacent veneers are placed horizontally 90 degrees to each others. This will create a stronger cohesion.


- Preliminary press: This step help to shape the structure of plywood sheet. The extreme pressure of the machine will increase the strength between the layers of veneer, creating a tighter and more durable structure for the sheet.

- Sanding: The core of commercial plywood, after being preliminary pressed will be put into the sanding machine to sand the surface. This sanding step will removes the roughness on the surface, make the core smooth.

- Gluing face veneer and hot press: After being sanded, the sheet will be spread glue on both sides. Once again, the plywood sheet was put into hydraulic presses under high temperature. It helps to create a strong and hard commercial plywood sheets.

- Trimming and sanding: Following the hot press, the corners and surface of plywood may undergo trimming and sanding operations. The small bug on a plywood surface (if any) will be repaired to create finished products.
